After more than 30 years of research, engineering, and real-world testing with race teams around the world, Disc Brakes Australia developed its proprietary XG-150 cast iron formulation for use in premium performance brake rotors.
DBA’s XG-150 grey iron features a high carbon content and carefully engineered alloy composition designed to deliver excellent heat management and reduced noise. The material helps maintain consistent braking performance under demanding conditions where thermal stability is critical.
XG-150 is paired with DBA’s patented Kangaroo Paw ventilation system, which improves airflow through the rotor for more efficient cooling. Its unique internal structure also increases rotor strength while helping reduce vibration and noise.
To further enhance performance, DBA applies its proprietary Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP) process to XG-150 rotors. This process conditions the material to better withstand high stress and repeated heat cycles, helping maintain performance in demanding applications.
Together, XG-150, Kangaroo Paw ventilation, and TSP provide a performance-focused rotor construction engineered for applications including towing, off-road use, high-performance street driving, and track use.
